Robotics and Intelligent Systems Laboratory
Our robotics laboratory has a range of mobile research robots, including ground robots and two helicopters, laser scanners, sonar sensors, cameras, and onboard linux based computers.
We have a debugging space with an overhead camera for tracking and a large touch screen, for augmented reality experiments and development.
We also have a tracking system for the lab, based on ceiling targets and a wearable camera.
Our capabilities include
- robot programming systems
- human-robot interaction
- visualisation and mixed reality simulation
- robot localisation and navigation
- intelligent systems including artificial neural nets and speech communication.
We are working on a healthcare robotics project together with colleagues in other disciplines at the University to do psychological evaluation and clinical evaluation of robots in healthcare.
